Check where your drive is coming from — and what might be holding it back.

This is the companion to the distress checks, and it works differently. SEEKING is the positive engine of wanting, curiosity and movement toward what matters. When it flows freely it lifts mood and helps the harder feelings resolve. It is not a mask or an escape. So this check has two parts: which level your drive is running from, and whether fear, anger, or grief is quietly damping it down.

Your drive right now

Pick one thing you want to move toward — a project, a goal, a change, a pull of curiosity. Example: “I want to restart my writing” or “I keep meaning to sort out my health.”

1. When you think of it, what shows up first?

2. What does the wanting feel most like?

3. What gets you moving on it?

4. When the drive is strong, where is it?

5. When it fades, what's usually missing?

6. What tends to reignite it?

7. Tick anything that's in the way right now. Leave blank if your drive feels fairly free.
